Kate Hein, who has a Master’s Degree from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and was our 2019 Making Democracy Work (MDW) Award winner, was our speaker. Her talk covered the history of Ukraine and Russia, as well as American foreign policy in Ukraine, the history of NATO expansion in East Europe, and implications for the US and the EU.
